Sodomy has been forbidden as a sinful behavior in many Christian denominations, including the Catholic Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and other denominations. However, some denominations are more accepting of homosexuality and same-sex relationships. Catholic Church The Catholic Church teaches that while being gay is not a sin, sexual activity outside of marriage is sinful. The church bases its teachings on Bible passages including Genesis 19:1–11, Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, I Corinthians 6:9, Romans 1:18–32, and I Timothy 1:10. Some Catholics have protested the church's teachings, including vandalizing churches and disrupting Masses. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints The church teaches that homosexual behavior is a grievous sin. Members who participate in same-sex sexual behavior may face church discipline. However, all people are permitted to attend weekly church worship services. Anglican Communion Some Anglican churches have approved blessings for same-sex couples. The House of Bishops voted to authorize the Prayers of Love and Faith for use in regular services.
